The Noyo Headlands Race

A Boston-qualifying half or full marathon on the Mendocino Coast

Halloween Fun at the 2023 Noyo Headlands Race

Last October, more than 230 members of our coastal community came out to support the seventh annual Noyo Headlands Race on Halloween weekend. Some were dressed up, some ran, some walked, some cheered from the sidelines—and together, we raised the necessary funds for Mendocino College’s new Physical Therapy Assistants to certify after graduation through our NOW Scholarship! Soon, they will be working within our healthcare facilities to support our community on the Mendocino Coast.

Let’s give a round of applause to our 1st place race winners!
  • 5K: Eli McNerlin & Alexa Hernandez
  • 10K: Alexandre Wilhelm & Tessa Petrich
  • Half Marathon: Tim Morin & Rebecca McLead
  • Full Marathon: Maxwell Frey & Jessica Imbert
We were especially impressed by the creative costumes on display this year! Browse our photo gallery to see the fun and festive looks on the course. Congratulations to all our runners!

“I love being part of a healthy activity with the proceeds going to a very important cause. We need a strong hospital and staff here on the coast.” - Bethany Brewer, Volunteer

Supporting Coastal Healthcare

The Mendocino Coast Healthcare Foundation (MCHFoundation), located in Fort Bragg, is a non-profit with a mission to support the health and wellness of our coastal communities.

All race proceeds directly support MCHFoundation’s Immediate Needs Fund, which serves the most pressing healthcare needs on the Mendocino Coast.

Want to help without running?

The Noyo Headlands Race has been volunteer-led since it began in 2016. Volunteer trio Kate Erickson, Bethany Brewer, and Mindy Slaughter are the race’s incredible organizers—and they want to see you come out on Saturday, October 28.

“For the past 20 or so years, there’s been a pervasive feeling in our community that healthcare is doomed—but there are steps being taken, and all of us can help with those steps. I wish more people knew all the amazing things MCHFoundation is doing for nurses and to enhance community wellness.” -Kate Erickson, Volunteer.
